What about the FCS P's do you feel justifies the price tag for you?

If being the only one who knows and cares what it is matters enough to you to spend $3K, buy it. If not, don't.
You could have an awfully nice "lesser cachet bass" painted to match and tweaked within an inch of its life for half that.

The woods, the attention to detail, etc. seperate the FCS build from general production Fender basses.
Some don't think that's so, but I'm pretty sure that there are those who own/play FCS basses that might support my view on this.
You can see more pics/ specs (if you want to) on the Music Zoo's site-no affiliation, that's one of their stock of FCS builds.
They've had others, including Jason Smith, etc. over time.
I like what they do.
Maybe I will buy that bass. I'm currently thinking about a Lakland 44-94, a Warwick Streamer CV, Ibanez Prestige ATK, a few more.
...Or maybe I'll enjoy what I already own!
Irregardless, I think that is one hella bass! |

Re-Read my posts re: FCS attention to detail, wood selection, and overall build quality over standard production Fender Basses, as well as them being in the same stratosphere as Sadowsky's, Lulls, etc.
And if one doesn't "get" the catchet (nice word eh?) of FCS, well, then, one doesn't! |

Have you played FCS vs USA Fender basses? They are like night and day. A 3k price tag is steep, but I don't see people scoffing at some of Sadowsky or Alleva Coppolo pricing. If they were too expensive, people would not buy them.

happy shopping ... ! | Thanks for your permission to swipe.
Also for your...opinion that it's pretty; plays well.
Feel free also to do your own builds and mods. I already own several magnfiicent basses- Stevens, Bee, Yamaha, Henman, Xotic, Bongo!, and have a '69 P-Bass which is kewler than almost all!
I couldn't care less about tempting anyone to buy anything FYI!
Shopping is fun...Now that I've got some disposal $$$$$
And THAT is a nice Bass. |

I'm considering a # of basses, or maybe none at all.
I posted what I currently own, and some I'm considering-
Including, e.g: the high-$$ 2013 Precision Closet Classic that MANY hate-
Really- Hate! With a passion.
But- Who cares? Saw it at NAMM, understand it's design, appeals to ME-(which is all that matter) and like it's stacked Duncans and other elements.
I lurk Music Zoo and others because I like to check the market out- I'm also in the MI Business, and I always look for prospects!
THAT Burgundy Mist- Pink if you're a real Macho-Bassman is an awesome instrument to me.
I MAY buy it, I may not.
Don't worry about it!
BTW-You never did say what your issues were with FCS, did you?
On my account- Don't even bother typing! |
