Replaced the neck with another from Rondo, new tuning keys and some SD basslines. Sounds a lot better now than before. And better than a few $500 guitars at GC I've played. |

It really makes me wonder if I'm going to need something "better". |

Yeah, if you buy one, be sure to mod it, or at least be ready to mod it.
The only things original on mine are the body, bridge, tone knob, pick guard and input jack haha. |

It's an okay bridge but there are no tracks for the adjustment screws to sit in so there's a possibility that the saddles will move around while you're playing. Other than that you really need to see when it arrives. I've replaced the pickups in one with Dimarzio's and the sound difference wasn't enough to warrant the $100 I spent. I've heard of people having lousy tuners, but the tuners work just fine on every SX I've bought. The only things I do when I order a new SX is to buy a replacement bridge and some strap lock buttons. |

I forget which model, my brother gave it to me after I sold my G&L. I put in some Duncan Quarter Pounders and new tuners. Next up is a bridge and electronics. Maybe a coat of paint.
I'm really happy with this bass, and after a few more mods I think it's going to be a good one. |

But when you get the bear, it can be really sweet for very little coin! |

I own 5 instruments from them, a classical, acoustic, two electrics and my bass.(guitarist turned bassist and loving it ). I've only had problems on the acoustic and the bass. Their Agile Les Paul copies are amazing though. |
