Basstovsky, are they more rare than other early 60's Jazz? I don't seem to find as many on here...

'60 and '61 are the only years they did the stacked knobs like yours has...
1960 is the birth year of the Jazz bass.

The Mary Kaye White 65 P is such a beauty! And the year I was born.

Nice,
I played a trans-white 1965 P-Bass for years
It was my main bass till stolen at a gig.
I miss that bass.

Yeah there are quite a few "beaten up" Pre CBS Fenders in the community.
Only I believe they're affectionately referred to as "well loved" rather than "beaten up"

Personally, I think they look better a little rough around the edges!

The 5 refers to precision.
A 7 refers to a jazz.
Those are not dates.

Just wondering...
when did lollipop tuners come in/go again?
I see those sometimes but have not found much info.
Thanks!

Lollipop tuners came in 1966 and disappeared sometime after 1968.
However, they were not always used during these years.

If I'm not mistaken they were introduced in 1966. I do not know when they disappeared.

Edit: Beat me to it...

I believe it was a vendor issue for introducing the lollipop tuners in the first place.

Here's one my wife dredged up, circa 1980. There are several things in this picture you're very unlikely to see me doing:

1. Playing a P bass (1965)
2. Wearing size 30 pants
3. Having long, brown hair
4. Playing a Peavey amp
5. Playing with a pick
