I'm having a look at it later when I get home. But I like what I see from here (apart from the obvious refinish)

Are you referring to the black Jazz?

Here's my '66. It's been refinished; the pickup cover is from 1972.

My '66 P. As it arrived to me with a body refin and a J pickup added. Non-original pickguard, but otherwise, all original. Pickup and bridge covers in the case. It actually had Grover Titan tuners on it, but the original tuners were in the case, too, complete with the original mounting screws! They were only missing one washer, from the back side of one tuner.

And the same bass after a fabulous restoration job on the body by johnk_10.

Is it OK that I posted it and is it OK that I post the selling price was 37k?
I am still a newb.
But one day, one will be mine.

Can I say WOW !!!!
I love how thick the outer finish is. Very common in early Fenders.
Insane nice.

Thanks for sharing. The more I see the more I fall in love with all of these things.
Maybe I'll luck out and score another some time in my life.- 1SHOT1HIT

Nope, you'll not luck out again. Finding that Shell Pink bass automatically prohibits you from EVER finding another desirable vintage bass. And, you should be OK with that.

Lol, I will give you the last part, yep, I'm perfectly fine with it if it never happens.
But the will, want, and determination to hit another huge score is a beast all of its own, completely out of my control.

Because there's still more out there.

And what would look better with a fantastic set of vintage basses than another beautiful vintage bass on the side? nothing.

Welcome.
I can't wait til they get here...
I always think about the blonde piggyback when I watch That Thing You Do!

Now, if I could only find an early-mid 60's J Bass that's been eluding my collection...
