Pre-Ernie Ball Stingray Value? Help!! Gurus!!

I have the opportunity to claim this musicman bass, but I'm curious what ya'all think the value is...

It was strung as a lefty for years, so there are 2 added holes for strap buttons on the lower horn and on the heel. There are dots markers added to the underside of the neck as well, where there's a small break in the finish and a black painted dot in each little hole. Pictures of this to come...

Otherwise, it's in pretty decent shape... one dime-sized ding on the bottom, but not missing any paint other than that. Scratches and normal wear...

I would likely pay $1500 for it. To the right person and providing the preamp and PU are original AND it is a late '70s (some buyers value the '80s basses lower), it might bring $2k.

Also, if it weighs 12lbs, it might be harder to get top $$$ out of.

The bass looks to be in great shape though.

Oh, as well it's a 1980 bass, and feels very light (for a stingray...) 9.5lbs is my guess

1500 is probably accurate. maybe a couple hundred more to the right buyer. it's very cool!

It does have the original case, strap, and polish cloth too.

it would probably go for a little more than 1500 on ebay. im thinking 16 to 1700. a dealer would probably ask 2k. im no guru, but ive been on the hunt for a heavy one for the last couple of months and have been tracking everything that shows up on the bay.
