| | | | Wow that's sick...preach has always been a great influence to me as a bass player. Ever since I was in my teens I used to hang out at atomic just to watch him play and talk! |

But, simply gorgeous! |

It wasn't when I checked it out but that wasn't in a gig situation. He has a second Bart dual coil on order, this was something they decided to try in the meantime and so far Preach dug it and I think he has gigged with it.

But, simply gorgeous! | It ain't easy. He just makes it look that way.
This is something Kevin's been doing for a long time now... working with exotic woods as fingerboard material. Basically it involves three layers: a thin veneer, a harder surface below that and then the neck, topped off with a poly finish. That's what he did on my Xtreme 5 way back when and that bass has held up very well.
Here's mine...
Untreated Spalted Maple is a barrel of laughs to work with in thin pieces for obvious reasons. Mine has Spalt on an Ebony layer attached to a Maple neck. |

I know Kevin Brubaker is a master builder of basses and Preach has a great reputation as a player. Between the two of them, I am certain they knew what they were doing with this bass!

I'm pretty sure they'll try the Bartolini when it comes in. And I haven't brought my JXB-6 six over for a comparison yet... it set a very high bar. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
