What are the models of your Fender P-basses and their the differing distances? (I need to add those measurements to my database) | I have 3 Fenders with split pickups - '84 P Elite II, '00 P Special Deluxe, and '04 Dimension. They are all 11 1/8" to the center of the EA pickup from the peak of the 12th fret. My Elite also has a second pair of split pickups that are 15 1/2".

Of I were Op I would decide about where I think the pup would look good then ring the harmonics to dial in the exact location and mark it on tape on the body.

What did you use to measure the distance?

the PBass pickup placement is under the 2nd harmonic node with the split being directly under the node itself..
measure the distance from nut to 12th (17 inches).. this distance should be the same from the 5th fret to the 2nd harmonic node.. |
