Very nice bass, and glad to see fellow mainers on TB. I also had a chance to play it, and it's rather sweet. You got a pretty nice deal on it.

Birdman! I too am an Auburn-ite. I play bass with Chad Porter, have we met? I am rocking out with this bass every weekend between The Chad Porter Trio and EZ$ party band. You should check out Chad's open mic on Tuesday's at Irish Twins.

I don't think we have, I haven't been able to get out to as many shows as I would like to. I'll definitely have to try and make it sometime.

Wow, lots of TB's from the surronding Dirty Lew area. This is great to hear.
Yup, I bought that bass! I'm glad everyone that played it liked it. I have about 8 gigs on it so far and can't imagine every selling it. I know this because while I'm playing I have stopped thinking about other basses.

Great bass, great price.

I have a 78 and that finish "checking" looks very familiar...

I'll never forget the first time I brought mine in on a sub gig with a horn band... we were soundchecking and after the first tune one of the horn players (older, very well respected and extremely picky) said, "wow, a bass that sounds like a bass".

Jaywa, do you think this was yours? I would love to track down the history and hear any and all recordings this bass has been a part of. Wouldn't that be great?

No this ones never been mine. Mine is black/black with a maple board and I still own it. It's been my main player since 1982.

But the lines on the finish follow much the same patterns as mine.

Not interested in trading for a jazz right now. But I might just buy it off ya. And yes, P. Aaron, seems to have filled a void. Now, I spend a lot of time on the web looking at motorcycles....

Function Band, ya know we play functions. Weddings, birthday parties and corporate christmas parties and such. Heck we just played at a Harley Davidson dealership in Portland, Maine for the shops "Winter sucks" party.
All the cheesey danceable cover tunes from the 50s' thru to today's biggest hits. I don't know the difference, but they all call it a "function band". Oh and yes, we play bars too.

I've got a black/rosewood '77 Precision that I love. Nice score on that sunburst beauty.

Strings? Well, they are D'addario something or other's. I had them in my bag from awhile back and never used them so on they went. What are other P-bass player's using for strings? What do you play for strings?
