I have D'addario Chromes on my P-Bass, and it's hard to imagine it with anything else.

+1 for my '76 P. Looks exactly like the OP's but has a rosewood board.

congrats! looks great.

I pulled the trigger on a 1978 Pbass a few years ago - a fretless in Olympic White. Here it is next to a recent AVRI '62 reissue also in "Olympic White," except you can see how the '78 has mellowed with age into a nicer color.

Hey thanks for the ?? on which strings. I found the packaging in my gig back pocket and sure enough, they are D'addario ESXL170 nickel wounds.
What's the difference between those and the Chromes you guys speak of? Maybe I'll take a look at the strings threads.
