A question for Turner Ren or Carvin AC series users

I picked up a fretless Ren 4 on Monday and absolutely love the sound, feel, looks...pretty much everything, except the body. When I stand and play, it digs into my forearm and gets a bit uncomfortable, since there isn't that little countour that's on most basses.

Sittig down, no problem. But standing, I feel like the bass forces my arm, elbow and shoulders forward so as not to have the edge of the body digging into my forearm. This feels a bit weird and awkward to me.

It's the exact same feeling on the AC40, as it has a similar body shape/countour.

Is this just something you have to get used to or is there a trick to avoiding this discomfort?

Thanks.

You could try one of these:

Or make something similar. I have no issues with my RB4FL or with the RB5FL I used to have, though. Of course, we are all built differently so I do understand your need for something to make it comfortable for you.

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll definitely look into it.

Cheers.

I wonder if they make one that would work on a 4001/3 RIC? I was looking at the Ren bass online, looks like it has binding along the front edge of the body.(all of them or is it an option?) Front binding is an option on the Carvin, but the ac40 i just bought does not have it. I am pretty sensitive to that issue, which is why i prefer the 4004 or S series of Ric basses, but i find the ac40 to be pretty comfortable in that regard.

Yes, the Rens have front binding as standard.
