Quick question about new Rick 4003! I just got a brand new Rick 4003 delivered. I will take it to get set up this week - action a little high for my taste - but plan to use it in rehearsal tonight and would like to take off that metal pick-up plate or protector. Can I just unscrew it and take it off or is there more to it than that, before I start messing too much with it? I used to have a Rick 20 years ago and can't remember what I did to take it off - kind of remember springs being in there but might be wrong. Thanks! |
You got to go after the smaller screws that secure the frame to the body. Get in there, and it should be obvious at that point. It has been a while, so I do not have step by step details, but take your time and dont let a screwdriver slip. |
Congrats on the new rick. This website will be your new reference manual: http://www.joeysbassnotes.com/Rick_maint.htm#rem |
