Here's an example, and needless to say, I just about had to pick my jaw up off the floor: http://www.beefybasses.com/fenderjb62OM.htm
You may as well look at all the other freaky, unheard of colors on these other jewels, too. Just gander through the list. There's plenty, for sure: http://www.beefybasses.com/fenderbassgallery.htm
Great stuff. |

| | | | I wonder what constitutes a rare color? Under 5000?under 500?under100? I know in car circle 5000 is your magic number, I once owned a sage green strat and have only seen one I other, that was on the TV, not sure if it is rare but on eBay I saw a sage green jazz bass I guessing you mean standard production colors not rare one offs or custom builds so while not my favorite color I say Sage green is a rare color |

I have 2 Sunset Orange P's. Somewhat rare, I don't think it's vintage. I love 'em but I'll probably hit the boring road on any new basses w/ a 3 color burst or natty . . . |

| | | | Desert Sunset, as in the color of the Bonnie Raitt Strat. I can't remember where I was flying on a business trip about the time they came out or shortly thereafter, but the flight happened to be on a clear day and was over a bank of fair weather cumulus clouds. The pattern of the clouds meeting the clear blue sky, which faded to black above me, was exactly the colors and textures of the Bonnie Raitt Strat from pearl pickguard to the edge of the body. I'm not really a Strat guy, but I gotta get me one of them one of these days. |
