Also regarding the serial numbers, Fender says there is overlap in years because of the modular construction.
I just don't think it is out of the question.
If you saw it in person what could you do to be completely sure. As the pots have that marker as someone says, a lot of stuff matches up... |

The pots weren't even MADE yet, much less have been sitting around @ Fender long enough to be from the "bottom of the box!"
