Resortation help?

Hey everyone,

I recently found, haggled over, and bought a old early 70s Fender MM. It was originally Daphne Blue and is now mostly a seafoam green color and the white pickguard is off white. This thing has age. Well here is the question at hand.

I dont wanna mess with the coloring but the bass needs a good cleaning up, as the two saddle bridge is dirty/rusted a bit...and the neck pocket needs to be wiped out also.

What should I use to not ruin anything yet get it looking better than it already does?

Its poly so use windex and paper towels to clean it, put a little lemon oil on the fretboard and you should be good.

With a old bass originality is key. If it doesnt wipe off with touch then leave it. In all honesty originality of a MM is not that important so if cosmetics are important to you 0000 steel wool with WD40 as a lubricant would work well to remove rust.

Honestly, it isn't a big deal...especially in this case. Thanks!
