Droooooool.

It's taken a while for ricks to grow on me, but the blue boy always catches my eye. A Sam Ash near me had one, maybe 10 years ago when I had just gotten into bass. I should have jumped on it when I had the chance.

This is one of the reasons I can't decide my favourite rick colour

Pretty sure that's the only other Rick I'd ever be interested in buying should the opportunity present itself... gorgeous!

How about this one? A '72 restoration by Paul Wilczynski.

Anyone know what year(s) Rickenbacker offered this finish?

I know they are relatively rare.

Blue Boy has an unusual term period. Obviously a nod to the refinished instruments used by "Gentleman Jim" Reeves in the early '60s, Blue Boy first was applied to instruments ordered by a retailer in the U.K. and delivered in 2002-03. RIC chose it as the "Color of the Year" for 2004 (along with the second year for Montezuma Brown). Orders were fulfilled into early 2006. Most Blue Boy basses are the deluxe 4003, but a few 4004L Laredo and 4004Cii Cheyenne II were also made.

Thank you Paul! Wow, it had a longer run than I expected, they are among the priciest Rics out there, which I attributed to the relative rarity.

At the risk of wearing out my welcome, since we have an authority on the thread, do you happen to know what year(s) the Turqouise was offered? I sold one recently and I've been queasy ever since.

It always bothers me when people put the horseshoe pick in backwards.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.
