| | | Hi, I'm new here but this seems like the right place for me. This is my baby. I love her, gig her regularly, and sometimes still pass out while playing her unplugged in bed.
She's an '86 4003 I picked up for a steal my senior year of college.
Can someone tell me more about the pickups? I've searched a little online but have not turned up anything useful... |

They're single coil "high gain" (for the time) pickups. Just a magnet under the rest of the pickup, with four pole metal pole pieces. Fairly simple. |

Fair enough, thank you. The bridge pulls at 8.5 and the neck pulls about 8.2 i think when tested by the luthier who set it up to 76 fender jazz specs. The neck is great. I have to set her up again but i haven't done it in a while. She's very fast. |

But seriously, why so many?
