| | Registered User \ | | | | | Rigel Acoustic Bass - Amazing! I've been enjoying my Rigel acoustic bass for three months now, and wanted to share some photos. These phenomenal instruments are everything that they are touted to be. Loud, lightweight, and so easy to play. I use a Realist pickup and, when amplified, it sounds just like an upright bass, but with a more precise attack because of the frets. It is a fantastic instrument and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone looking for the highest quality, easily playable acoustic bass.
This is NOT a guitar. It isn't built like one and absolutely does not sound like one, nor does it suffer from anemic projection. It sounds and projects like a half-size bass fiddle. It will easily keep up with two jumbo guitars and several mandolins, and is perfect for venues where bring amplification is problematical. It absolutely kills with the Realist pickup.
Kudos and thanks to Pete Langdell for making me this amazing instrument. |

He is fantastic to work with. I enjoyed the whole process. Even went to Vermont to meet "the man" and pick up the bass in person. Very special.
Mike Z, it has been ages since I've chatted with you. Remember our "Wal" days?

My sets are one hour long, and we do three sets per night.
If you are worried about the weight (it is less than my jazz bass), then Pete can install an end pin for you.

Ben | Ben, I didn't recognize your login! Yes, it's been ages--how's life treating you? I still think about picking up another Wal from time to time....

I was Bejahu from the Dudepit days. Remember? I'm doing well. Being very active with my band and trying to play as many different kinds of music as possible. How about you? |

How about you? | Yep, I knew which Ben you were! I'm staying busy playing myself, partly because there aren't enough hours in the day to play all the kinds of music I'd like to and partly because I'm terrible at saying "no" when anyone asks if I'm available! :-)
