What are the pros and cons of each?
Any truth to "too much birdseye" being a bad thing? |

The pros and cons are subjective, and I personally like the looks of birdseye fingerboard over a rosewood one, unless the rosewood has a nice pattern and is more brown than black, like my 97 MIA |

Okay, I'm reaching... | I plucked those bird eyes out and stuck them to my fretboard.

The tech who works on my guitars has said birdseye necks were more prone to warp, but I'm not sure if thats across the board or what. He had a custom guitar built and had the neck go to hell on him in the first year of playing it- but he also said he's worked on many guitars with birds eye necks that have held up great.
