This may be a silly poll, since I realize its all a matter of preference. But looking for feedback, rational or other. I plan to save to buy in the near future an EBMM in Pearl Blue. But not sure if I should get with Maple or Rosewood fretboard (not neck). First time buying a bass with the option.
Thoughts and/or suggestions? Why or why not?

It's strongly a personal preference.
Maple has a hard finish over it, Rosewood is raw.
Maple also has a slightly brighter tone, but most people seem to think that the difference is very slight.
Pick for looks and feel.
I'm not a fan of either wood, but of the two, I'd take Maple. |

Maple looks "unfinished" to me and will show more wear. I actually like ebony of ebonol for a dark clean look similar to an upright bass or cello. Yet, I prefer a maple neck on a guitar. Go figure. |

If you have the opportunity to play these basses, find out if you can discern any difference in the sound and feel. I certainly can others will argue that they do not. If you fall in the first category buy the one that you like better otherwise get the one you think looks better. Most local GC stores carry these for you to demo.
