Rush Squier Clockwork Angels VM Jazz bass

Anyone seen or played one of these? It's a Rush-branded VM Jazz, maybe a bit overpriced at 6 Benjamins, but it would make a nice bass for a hardcore Rush freak!

All I can think is... WOW, 6 bills fer a Squier. In the immortal words of Al Borland, "I don't think so, Tim."

Wow, a wood burner and a sticker plus a squier jazz can make that bass for $300.

$599 is what the site deems as "Regular Price", but I would wager that the actual street price is lower than that. To wit: the MSRP for a Squier VM Jazz '77 on Fender's web site is ~ $500, but sells for > $300. Who's to say it won't command a higher price? It might speak to the limited production, so 6 Bennies might eventually be the going price...I could not say.

+1

If it was $300-350 I would buy one to hang on my basement wall, but $599 for a $299 bass "upgraded" with a $0.50 sticker and a branded logo on the headstock is crazy.

P.s. I am a huge Rush fan as is my 16 year old son. Funny enough, I just received my "exclusive" package from Rush today for buying premium seats.... Shirt, cooler bag, picks, program and poster!

I'd pay as much for that as the one without the stickers and burnt wood.

heh, ya. I started the 2nd thread about it, and someone posted the 1st thread that already mentioned it, so I figured I'd pass along the 1st and 2nd thread. Let's see how many different threads we can start about the Geddy Squire!!!

A $599 MSRP should have a street price around $375.
In no way is this a "$600 Squier".

I'm not a huge Rush fan, I like them plenty, but I'm not obsessed like so many are...

With that said, I still kind of want one of these!

Hm...no. But if they had the RUSH wood burn placed in the front of the headstock then maybe...

I payed less than that for a Fender MIJ Geddy's and I sold it thereafter for a Yamaha

My second Sheehan's Attitude Limited II

Fender Geddy's was beatifully crafted and with stock strings and action to die for

Yet soft soundin'... too soft for my rockcover outfit (not even to mention my main thrashmetal band)

And we're talkin' about alder body, BadAssII bridge with selected maple neck and fingerboard!

Do we have to even consider a Crafted in Indonesia agathis body with notsoever neck finish and crappy duncan designed pickups?!

Come on!

Cheers,
Wallace

Does it have the same neck profile as the Fender Geddy Lee?

It seems so (1,5" nut width)

Yeah, it definitely shares same nut width with Geddy's (and Classic '70s, and American Vintage '75...)

Cheers,
Wallace

As the person who started the first thread about it, I approve this message.
