RW P: Thinking about adding a J

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay heres the story.

A buddy of mine plays guitar and wanted a bass, i recommended a RW P after considering what sort of bass tone he wanted. He ended up buying one and after a few weeks were both happy with it.

I've been very impressed with the RW series (guitars as well), and now want to get one myself, however i am totally GASing for a PJ.

Has anyone considered or added a J pup to a RW bass?

I would do it in a heartbeat. As much as I dig my AmStdP, my new AmDlxP is getting all the playing time when I need a fretted because I can dial up a few extra tones that really serve certain tunes well. You just have to be careful about matching pups well and consider a preamp.

I added another P p/up to mine, it sounded great and looked pretty good IMO

Thanks man, I'm currently using Tone hammer DI for all my passive basses if i need tone shaping/signal boost instead of digging out extra wood in the basses.
