What's this club's policy on the new SBMM SUB offerings? I'm thoroughly enjoying mine, but am I looking at this club as being "US-made-only"??

Do the new S.U.B.s have the same pickups and preamps as EBMM Stingrays?

The US made between 2003-2006 and the recent SBMM ones are entirely different instruments... so I guess yeah, this is the USA models only.

No.

Both pickups and preamps are different.
I'm not saying "bad" or even "worse". I'm just saying "different".

Unlike the original USA SUBs which shared the electronics with their more expensive siblings.

jackpot???

if you mean jack socket, they use the same type.
I'd get one from Switchcraft. They're sturdy, well made. Make sure you get the "stereo" (two terminals plus common) one, rather than the usual mono ones in passive basses, as the extra terminal is used to disconnect the battery when the cable is pulled.

You might find the pins need resoldered to the circuit board.
I had to do this on mine cause the lead was tight under the strap and put sideways pressure on the jack and cracked the solder joints on the board.
I resoldered them and never had a problem since.
They are incredible basses

Yes they are. I just picked up a blue 5er in great shape off of the local craigslist. They sound great and are built like tanks.

Custom Music Man Textured Finish?

So... does anyone know what this "Custom Music Man Textured Finish" on the SUB is, anyway? I find it beautiful and beastly, and might like to finish a guitar to match my SUB.

Anyone know what the textured paint is and/or where I can get some?

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind... Billy Imperial from Ernie Ball Customer Service told me it's just a standard Textured Polyester, available in automotive paint stores, etc.

they did make boring old 6 string guitars in the original SUB line as well.
I have yet to find one un-modded though.
