So i have been playing my Lakland 5 strings Osborne for about 3 years. I need the 5 strings for both the projects im working on.
I just nailled a Cat Empire tribute gig and i figured ill be able to play my 76 Jbass again...
Wrong!!
No matter hard i try, i always come back to the Lakland... The tone, the tighness of the sound, the action of the Jbass, its not even close to the Lakland. Not to mention the scale ...
Im sad
Maybee its time to sell it for a brutal amount of money...

Unless you want to hold onto it for its collectors value. But I'd take the money and buy a new amp or cabinet. Congrats on the new gig! |

Cash it in, I say. |

I saw them this past summer at a folk festival and loved them. Just didn't realize they were that popular I guess. Congrats on the gig!

| | | | I'm sorry I sold my old J Bass. It was the first real bass I owned, I used it in the first real gigs I ever had, and so now even an equivalent J Bass could not replace it. I'd just love to have it sitting in my closet.

Enjoy!

Some times the idiosyncrasies in an old Fender make you play a little differently and keep things fresh. Those old basses are what they are. Don't try to make it something it ain't. just pull it out every once in a while and let it be it's self! |
