As you may have noticed from the classifieds, I have listed both a Will Lee Metro and UV70 Metro at separate times. I was initially under the impression that having both was somehow redundant. Needless to say, I ended up keeping both of them.

What I have noticed is how perfectly matched the humcancelling pickups are to the Sadowsky pre. On the Will Lee, I never touch the treble because the single coils have such a great snap and I have to be careful with the bass knob as well.

On the UV70, there is far more of a usable preamp range. Granted, I am not preferring one to the other, the Will Lee is far more aggressive sounding and though it still sounds like a Sadowsky, it is closer to vintage fender territory. However, the humcancelling pickups with the preamp is a beautiful sound in it's own right. Much more polite but perfectly balanced. It just fills the sonic space with a thick but well defined bass glue.

I just wanted to post this as a follow up to my classified listings as well as a tribute to the humcancelling pickups. It seems on this forum humcancelling pickups are often seen as a compromise but I think Roger and crew really nailed this pairing in a remarkably simple but versatile package.

Is this old news? Any other thoughts?

I love the HC's on my Sadowsky Std4. No hum, very balanced, pure Sadowsky modern tone.
When I wand that open vintage Fender SC tone, well, I use my Fender.
