anywho......
i was curious if anybody here has tried this combination... i love alder bodies and i've always enjoyed maple necks.
so, i would like a alder body and maple neck.
if anyone has any experience with this combination, it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Problem is, if you want a Sadowsky like that, you have to buy a NYC, as they don't offer that combo in the Metro line. IME, the maple board makes the attack a hair faster and brighter. It's nice. Which bass are you considering?

While it may look a bit like rosewood, it is actually much more dense and probably shares more with maple than the Indian rosewood most of us think of on basses.
I have an alder/morado PJ5 and I like it very much. I personally think it is a little smoother and more tame than the ash/maple PJ I had before. |

Yep. Alder/Morado is the combo for metros. Its the nearest tonal wood to maple in the rosewood family. Id find the one u like, grab it, and enjoy

evan | I have a NYC that is alder/maple. Agreed that if you go Metro, the morado should be pretty close tonewise.

Maple fingerboards are available with white or black blocks and binding, and rosewood boards have white blocks and binding. Each model is available with an alder or ash body, regardless of fingerboard choice.
