Sadowsky P question

I want a P that gets the stock classic tone or a modern mid-scooped tone if I want it.

How well do Sadowsky P's do at getting the traditional P tone? Specifically the alder/rosewood combo.

A Sadowsky P with an alder/rosewood combination sounds like a Pbass, especially in passive mode and with the preamp set flat: Thick, barky mids, and a punchy low-end. If you boost both the bass and the treble, you will be able to get that scooped-mid sound that your are looking for. Roger's P-basses are superb.
