hey guys i just got another bass last night. picked up a samick short scale traded a case for it. just have to replace the nut. gonna do tha this afternoon. are samick basses good? what upgrades can i do to it?
does anyone know where to get a black bridge cover? my guitar is sunburst with black outline.
my equipment.
fender p-bass
crate 115 watt amp
samick bass
looked it up and found out the bass is a 2001
Brand name: SAMICK
Series name: SAMICK STANDARD SOLID BODY SERIES
Dates of manufacture: 2001

Not sayin there is anything "wrong" with them, but I saw one sell on CL for 45 bucks.
You could upgrade it in any fashion you desire, but you could spend the upgrade money on another bass as well.... |

im thinking of putting some super pickups in this bass
and a black bridge cover.
bass is nice i would say worth more than what u say |

It just happened to be worth 45 bucks to the person who bought it on CL. And to you, it was worth the case you traded for it.

"sammich" as in...I'm hungry and I'm going to make a sammich.
I tried to tell him, no, it's not sammich with a CH, it's samick with a K...sigh....guitards!

They're ok as a low end brand, although I'd prefer a Squier over a Samick.

Their distribution that I've seen is mainly through pawn shops so that may be part of the stigma but I think they're decent instruments. I played with one guitar player that changed between Taylor and Samick acoustics almost indiscriminately so how bad can they be?
