| | | | Saw a vintage Fender Precision at a show this weekend...

I was helping out with the stage set up at our yearly blues fest and the bassist had a gorgeous creamy yellow (Olympic White?) precision. I got a look at the neck plate and noticed the serial number started with 70, it was square with no other markings on it. What year would that make the bass?

But with not having any better details or a pic to go by, the OP bass could have been a faux look-a-like for all we know. You can buy faux neck plates with digits stamped on them. |

I almost think the serial # was 5 digits.
