I added a Master Volume and Tone setup to my SB-2 recently. I recorded a clip before doing it. I also recorded a clip of my new-to-me Peavey Fury with Hi-A (Bartolini) pickup. And then a clip of the SB-2 after adding the new controls.
Both basses have DR Black Beauty strings, but not the same set. I.e. I did not move the strings from one bass to the other for purposes of recording. Both sets have very similar amounts of wear in the coating, though...
The amp used is a '73 Traynor YBA-3 into a Bergantino NV610 cab. Recorded with an Olympus LS-10 handheld digital recorder.
Caveat: My playing sucks and the basses were not always in perfect tune. I was in a hurry. Especially on the final SB-2 recording which I did quickly, during lunch today, and the bass almost slipped right off my lap once, in the middle of playing. The purpose is to share what these different options sound like. Hopefully, these clips do that - crappy playing or not.

This is the same SB-2 (but not the same strings) that I used for this earlier poll I posted, comparing it to my '66 Fender Precision and my Am Std P with an Allparts neck. P vs P-like: Can you tell the difference?
