Hey everyone! I'm looking for a new bass, and have to narrow it down between these two. I play alterntive, indie, and contemporary christian. I'm looking for a versatile instrument, that can do a warm supportive tone, and one that can be aggressive and nasty with some overdrive. Both are within my budget.

I have never played a more versatile bass than my big al. can go from super warm in passive mode, to crazy aggressive in active - with everything imaginable in between.

My B50 (SB5000 with a more traditional body shape) doesn't get as warm as a Big AL. I can only get so much natural warmth out of the Jazz arrangement while the Big AL can get bigger with the neck pick up soloe'd while not being muddy.
