So, a month a go i got a 77 Gibson Rd, unfortunately it had a broken tuner... It was a bit of an unusual one because it has the Schaller m4 tuners instead of the big open gear tuners...
Sent a mail to Gibson, they told me they didnt have spare tuners like that anymore and that i should contact schaller.
Did so, within a day, Lars Buenning, CEO of schaller himself answers my emails, tells me they dont have those Gibson tuners anymore but that i am welcome to send it back to them see if they can fix it.
I like that a company stands behind a 30years old product!
When the tuner reached them Lars told me that the tuner in question wasnt actually a schaller, it was some kind of rebranded gibson tuner, that it was not possible for them to fix it!
That confused me since Gibson maintains that it was made by Schaller but they tell me it wasnt...
Well, either way, my tuner is unfixeable BUT Lars told me they where shipping me a brand new Schaller m4 to replace it, free of charge and that he hoped i would be happy with it!
It wont be branded Gibson, but at least it will work...
How good of a CS is that!?!
Sorry for the long post but i thought i should share that, i will definitely be buying schaller next time i need some hardware!
Pic of the beast....
