Schecter California Custom - Some Love

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just wondering how many people out here have one of these or have owned one. I bought one off of Shaboda a while back, and I must say it's a sleeper. I strung it up a few days ago to use on my NYE gig tomorrow. Schecter quit making these some time ago. They're a modern Jazz Bass copy (which means they don't have a pickguard ) and came loaded with active EMGs rather than the passive HZ EMGs that now come in Schecters. I'm consistently impressed with the tone that comes out of this thing. The neck doesn't quite have the feel of a neck on a $1000+ bass, but that's a minor quibble.

These were KILLER basses! Its a shame they halted production, and for what? Rickenbacker and Elric copies!?

Glad to see the Diamond line though, I'm a HUGE fan of the P and J Diamond basses.

I was so underwhelmed by the 2010 models, which is shame after being introduced to the Riot in 2009, which were killer basses.
