Schecter Diamond 004 in Black!

I know this an old bass but I have never been more exited over a old new bass. Tried a whole bunch of basses at the music store today but then i tried the schecter that probably been passed over 300 times. The guy gave me a price of 350 out the door just because he had it for so long. The thing is set up perfect as is(low action, no buzz, fast neck, sounds terrific, and good to look at). Anyway, I just wanted to express my joy to someone.

Thanks alot guy's, and yes it is seriously underrated. I even underrated this thing at first, but a little seat time at the local music store and now she's all mine. Its truely is an outstanding bass for the money.

Agreed. They are great basses. I currently own 2. 1 active, 1 passive.

...so check this out...:
http://thebassblog.wordpress.com/201...-of-geddy-lee/

This one was made in 2006 & I picked it up from a used-instrument private seller in 2010. I knew I was going to get one in either black or light natural, then this one came along by incredible chance & timing.... After I got it, I hounded Schecter for information over a few-week time period, and all they would say on the record is "yes, we made the bass you own in our Custom Shop, but it was not intended for retail sale and we will not provide a Certificate Of Authenticity for a prototype..." then the conversations ceased.

I LOVE this thing. Screw the Schecter snobs who base their opinions on the lowbuck crap on the wall at Guitar Center. The 004 is a BADA$S! Brass nut, string-through-body bridge, a viciously-Ric-y sounding bridge pickup, fast neck in just the right size & heft. Awesome instrument... No matter what a certain Canadian guy might *or might not* have thought about it

Congrats! I have an '08 black 'n maple 004 also and yeah, these are real treasures. I'm really hoping that I can someday find an ash body/rosewood neck one to go with it.
