Schecter Diamond 8 string

So, I was at a music shop downtown today and saw a 8 string (4 string with thinner octaved strings in between). I was trying to find some info on it, but the schecter site doesn't list it (or I couldn't find it). Not sure how I feel about schecter yet, but I liked the feel of having the octaved 8 strings. It was a diamond series, bolt on neck, with 6 bolts on the back. going for about $550.

Any info or speculation on this?

I've seen them, decent quality bass...might be just slightly overpriced though. (Maybe it's different in Canada, but London is close enough to Detroit...) I'd say it's a little better than the Dean Rhapsody I used to have.

it's discontinued. right now the only 8-string they offer is the stiletto studio model. $550 to me is over-priced. it should be closer to $300-$350.
