Is schecter a good brand?

I am looking for a new bass and I found a schecter bass for a pretty good price and was wondering if it is a good brand.

the general concensus is : good bang for the buck, electronics not so hot. i have two 5'ers, an elite-5 and a studio-5 and they're both good basses. the HZ's are a little tame for me. might swap'em out later for some active DC40s.

I have tried some of their basses and they are alright. If you were looking at a model with emg hzs, I would try to test one out. Some people like em, others hate em. Bu I have heard awesome things about the custom p, model t, and the diamond jazz.
