Schecter Model T or another Fender MIM P...?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know, I know...play them see which one works for you...well no one has a Model T to try out. I already have a nice P but since Fender MIM's came back with the Lake Placid in 09' I have been wanting one in that color with a rosewood board...BUT also like the idea of a P-J combo and love the look of the Model T, especially butterscotch..not too big on the headstock though.

I need another bass like I need a hole in the head, but you know how it goes. I have a 50's MIM and an 08' Am Std Jazz...just want another P or PJ...

I would really like to try a Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub...but that is out of my price range and there are no Lakland dealers anywhere in a 2hr radius for me...if not longer.

I've owned two Model T's and they are fantastic basses.

The newer version or the ones from the 80's early 90's?

I played an old Schecter about 15yrs ago and I was amazed of the playability and sound, I do not know what yr it was, it was used back then.

I know it's not a model T, but I just tried Schecter's diamond series P at the local music megamart and thought it sounded deeper and grindier than any other P in the shop. Don't know if that helps any but I thought I'd share.

edit: Oh and the neck felt great to me. A little wide but shallower than most P's if I recall correctly.

I have an early 2000s Model T with the active EMGs. Its from when they were officially a Robert DeLeo sig. I love, love, love it. Playability and tone are fantastic. It's well balanced and I happen to like the Schecter headstock on these. Can't stand the look of any of their other models. Don't know how the more recent ones with the Basslines pickups are.

My next bass will be one of the Diamond P Customs in dark metallic blue. Schecter makes very nice stuff. I highly recommend them.

Very nice... the 5er in blue or white is on my short list of the possible 'next bass'

I love my model T. I got a while back and still love the sound and solid feel to this. The EMG sounds great too

I had a Schecter Stilletto 4 banger back in like 04'...It was well made sounded decent then I was hooked on Fender as we strickly played classic-southern rock...and well Fender helped give us the look...Now I am a Fender addict....but love the look of the Model T'.

A Model T with EMGs and you're set.
I'd kill for one like ftroopy's.
