It has a much smoother tone that the BTB and the neck profile is exactly what I was looking for.

The pictures on the Schecter site don't do justice to the Transparent Red color. The real color is not as bright as their pictures show.

I saw one of these at a local music store and you are right, the pics don't do it justice. The color and finish is gorgeous. I have a Riot 5 but seriously thought about pulling the trigger on that bass. Congrats on the new bass!

This is a really stupid question, but where are the new Diamond Series basses made nowadays? Indonesia or Korea?

It depends. I had a Diamond P5 that came from South Korea and a Model T that came from China. When I received the T, I was a little surprised when I saw that printed on it.

But the build quality was excellent. I'd say as good as the MIJ Fender Geddy Lee I also once owned.

Hey all! After test driving an MTD Kingston Heir 5, an Ibanez BTB775 and a Hellraiser Extreme 5, I decided on the Schecter. Here's a pic of it and the MTD before I made my final choice...

Grats on keeping the Schecter.

If I may ask, what made you decide to keep the Schecter over the MTD Heir? The reason I ask is because I am interested in both basses.

Good choice. I bought a Kingston Heir 5 and traded it to a Stiletto Studio 5.

This round of Bass-Off 2012 pits defending champ Schecter Hellraiser Extreme 5 against the MTD Kingston Heir.

The MTD comes on strong with its ergonomic, asymmetrical neck, clear and clean tone, good looks and lighter weight. Unfortunately, the less-than-perfect fretwork, buzzy pickups and wider string spacing hinder it enough that I once again proclaim the Schecter to be the victor.

MTD went back to Guitar Center. Looks like the Schecter is my new 5 string bass. Unlike the Ibanez BTB 775 I tried out last week, I'll be sorry to see the MTD go. With a good setup and a little electronics work, it would have been more of a squeaker of a contest! But the Schecter is just flawlessly made, easy to play, and has a very versatile and impressive tone palette,

Gotta say, though, I think both the Ibanez BTB775 and the MTD Kingston Heir are far better looking instruments.

Does anyone know how much '01-'03 model 4 string Schecter Robert DeLeo signature Model T basses sold for? I'm just tryin' to get an idea of what mine is worth. Current Model T basses sell for $599. I was wondering since it's an artist model if the price was higher?

Per rule #3 of the Rules/FAQ/CUP linked at the top of this page...

"Price check/"How much is this bass worth"-type threads are limited to supporting members only. Post them in the appropriate forums for the item in question (A question related to the value of a bass guitar should be posted in the Basses[BG] forum, an amplifier in the Amps[BG] forum, etc.)."

I thought that rule was to limit the number of THREADS about price/value of gear. I didn't know that I couldn't ask in the owners club threads either.

I'll give a pass on this one since the question is about the original selling price and not the current value...and since the poster told me he was not looking to sell.

Thanks guys.

Thanks smperry. I'm not looking to sell it. I just like to know how much my gear costed new and this is the one piece of gear that I have, that I have not been able to find the new price for. So does anyone have any idea how much it was new?

I just traded my Ibanez BTB676 to Schecter Hellraiser 5 yesterday. Couldn't live with the wide Ibanez neck. Schecter has much better neck for a smallhanded like me. I'm quite happy with the swap

Sorry I have been really busy with school, so I did not get a chance to get a picture. I will try to work on it this week.
