Schector Bass Mods
This bass started life as a Diamond Series 004 (Ric style body). In my opinion, I got lucky and in July 2012 the original pre-amp failed. Schecter couldn't fix it so I had them upgrade it. Schecter, not me, the factory, replaced everything with EMG-35hz pickups and EMG electronics. EMG-35Hz is the same pickups that are on their Stiletto Custom 4 bass and sound great. It still has Master Volume**, Neck/Bridge Blend, Treble and Bass pots.
Here is where the fun begins! They also equipped it with the BTS-System dipswitch selectable frequencies on the Treble/Bass pots. This configuration is NOT on the Stiletto.
**They left the original push/pull Volume on mine, but instead of going from active to passive as it was set up originally, it will now split the coils when you pull it up. That means you can get the Humbucking or "Fender" split coil sounds with the flick of a stitch.
This is not a commercially available Schecter Bass. Schecter did the work at their factory in California. I can show you the emails back and forth. The neck is thin and lightning fast, like a Fender Jazz bass. This bass still has the BRASS NUT and high-density bridge for unbelievable sustain and clarity.
Now for the not-so-fun part: Nobody wants to buy a modified bass(??!!??!!). Why? This bass is lightening fast, perfect condition, blows evrything out of the water; but by customizing the thing into something unique, it's like it has a Pox or something....
