SD Curlee Prototype?!?!? NYC CL Action

What is up with this???

If it's legit I'd say someone in NYC should snatch it up for $400.

I can't tell if it says USA or INT'L under Curlee. If it says INT'L, it's a Hondo. Nothing against Hondos, just nothing I'm interested in.

Nice find! I've never seen or heard of one like that.

It's a USA. The ones that had just "CURLEE" on the headstocks were the company's last gasps. Actually really high quality, stripped down, glue only necks, satin lacquer finish... they made strat, V, and explorer/star shapes. I had a Strat shaped bass, which I sold when moving cross country. Wish I still had it. It was the best of many Curlees I've owned.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize Curlee made any in this shape, or without the "SD". Seems like a neat piece for $400.

He's been listing it for months, too.
