The body has been repainted, and I don't believe that it's original besides that either. The body is a bit rough(chip, dings, scratches, etc). I've been wanting a fretless forever, and am wondering if you guys think I should defret this one. Will I be taking any possible value away from the bass if I do?

By the way, have you done it, if so, what kind of epoxy did you use?

| | | | no A Lakland 5502 fretless just sold for 550.00 on ebay.
Sell that and buy a fretless. But if you consider it fun and cheaper than golf or hanging out at a bar, then by all means hack away! |

The epoxy job is where it gets tricky and could easily be where you ruin the neck.

- Good chance of ruining the neck
- De-values the bass
- It will never be as nice as a true fretless
- When you realize that you don't like it, it is big bucks to re-fret.
Maybe it is old and beat up, but but it is a Foundation.
Save your $$ and buy a used Squier or SX fretless.
