| | | | Should I get a Fleabass as my first bass?

Hey all, I'm hoping this is my first thread about this... I tried typing and submitting one, but it never appeared.
Anyway, yes, I'm looking to start playing the bass sometime soon and my eye has been caught by the blue and white Fleabass Street Bass(?). Basically, I was wondering whether or not it's a good bass?
It's perfectly within my optimistic budget and you guys really seem to know what you're talking about, so any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You can get a made in the USA Music Man SUB used for less than 500 and it's a great bass.
I would go for a classic vibe J or the black vintage modified jaguar with blocks if it were me. Best bang for the buck out there right now.

Flea pretends to not understand why they weren't a huge success at their over-priced-for-their-dollar-value level.
I do not expect Flea Basses to become any form of collector's item.

| | | | Oh really? I didn't know that.
So what would you guys suggest I get? I'll change the title, if I can.
I'm looking at the £250-£300 mark. |

| | | | Save the cash and buy a used Ibanez for half the retail of the Flea |

| | | | Ibanez ATK and Ray34 would both be similar basses to the Flea bass. There is a Squier Jaguar bass that has a humbucker near the bridge like those other two I mentioned, it might be worth trying it out. |
