should i make my fender blacktop jazz fretless?

Sign in to disble this ad
im been messing around with the idea since i got one in a trade a month or so ago. i wanted a fretless(i actually plan on using it not just fiddling with it). anyone else think its a neat idea/good idea. basically the black top on neck pup sound like p on back sounds like music man and on bith sounds like odd jazz bass sound.

also where are some good places to get a fretless neck. i looked on ebay and can only find 1 or 2? anywhere to get one custom made thats good and not like expensive.

Allparts.com has necks but they don't come cheap. I'd buy a fretless neck and keep the fretted neck just so I could swap if I wanted to

If you buy a fretless neck you can put it on to try it. If you don't like it, the old neck can be put back on and you can resell the fretless neck. If you like it, you could sell the fretted neck to recoup some or all of the cost of the fretted neck.
