Should I pull the trigger?

Hi fellow TBers! I have the opportunity to buy a Spector NS-2000/4 made in Korea for about $600. Does anyone own one of these? What do you think of them? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

rojo412 03-12-2013 12:11 PM

Decent basses, but not worth $600, IMO.

Thanks guys. We hardly ever see Spectors come up for sale here, and I haven't seen them in any shop. Nobody bid on it so I have been offered it for NZ$550 which would roughly be about 500 US

$600 is upscale retail. $525 sounds much better.

It's a killer bass IMO I can't remember the list back then but new I think I paid that or a wee bit more. They do have Maple neck through , brass nut and all the right curves . I love mine and never felt the need to swap the pups which often have a love/hate follow them around .

I just posted this thread yesterday.

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/help-determining-type-spector-966018/

There's one for sale near me for $350. I could forward you the craigslist link if you'd like.

El Spearo 03-12-2013 04:24 PM

Yeah, the issue is that I'm in New Zealand, so shipping would make it heaps more. I'll see if it gets relisted at a lower price. It does have some cosmetic issues, and it's missing a little chip off the fretboard next to one of the upper frets

MetalcoreBP 03-12-2013 05:10 PM

I guess I should have actually read through the thread before posting. I didn't realize you were in NZ.

Pet peeve:

If you aren't in the US (or even if you are), put your location in your header if you're going to ask questions about buying and selling and price.

Nearly every day, someone asks about this stuff and after wasting everyone's time for twenty posts, he finally reveals he's in Turkey or Ecuador or someplace which makes the whole thing moot because nobody here has any idea what his local situation is.

Think about it.

But +1 to locations being listed

Nobody's time was wasted. Don't worry about a grumpy comment.
