| | | | Should I sell my pbass hardcase?
Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a used am std pbass 09 and it came w a pretty nifty hardcase. Thing is, I prolly be using my regular gigbag since the hardcase is too bulky to carry around.
Im not a touring musician so my bass doesnt fly across continents at all. Im thinking of selling it to fund new pickups for my bass.
Is there any reason I should keep it? If Im selling it, how much is it worth?

Even if you don't tour, you can store your bass in it while at home and have the peace of mind that she will be safe if some knuckle head knocks her over. You won't be able to buy decent pickups with the money you get from it anyway... |

| | | | When I go to rehearsals I use a gig bag...but for actual gigs I use the hard shell. It's easier to pack in the van. Plus it lessens the risk of getting stomped on or knocked over. If you ever decide to sell it. The case is always a plus. |

I used it a couple times but it was way more than I needed so I went back to my nice gigbag. The case sat around for about a year, untouched except for having to wipe the dust off periodically. I finally got tired of looking at it so I sold it on CL. I haven't missed it at all.
If I'm selling a bass without a case I just set the price accordingly, just as I'd set it accordingly if it had a case. It's obviously not going to be the same price and it's never been an issue for me.
I prefer to use the gear I have rather than store it for a rainy day but it sounds like I'm in the minority here. |

Many gigbags today are just as protective as a HSC. Check out Mono cases or Reunion blues stuff.

| | | | Your bass will be damaged in the back of a van - keep the hardcase.

Unless you're getting some big bucks for it - it's probably not worth selling... |
