Should I trade?

Sign in to disble this ad
I want to go in today and trade my Steinberger spirit for a fretless jazz. So I can have one fretless and one fretted bass for each of my parents house. And spend my saxophone money on a new rig, rather than a new bass?

Thanks guys.

What's saxophone money? If it's money intended for purchasing a saxophone, you should get a new horn. Gear is just gear, that will widen your musical horizons.

Actually I'm selling my horn. I play alto and I have an old tenor I don't play, so I'm selling it. Some guy is already buying for $500, so the $500 is my saxophone money

what kinda rig you got? are you in a band? trying to get into a band?

if so, make sure you got at least a decent loud rig. no point in having a dozen basses if you got no power

If the values are relatively close, the deal makes sense to you and gives you what you want/need, then why not?
Unless the values of the basses are way out of whack and not in your favor, then I'd say make the deal.

You've already got one fretless bass, but if you need a bigger amp, I'd say go right ahead and do that. Otherwise, why not save the money until you can get something you really want?

Why don't you use some of that money to get a real professional setup done on the basses that you were complaining about in your last thread?

Trade to store = BAD.

It 's always, ALWAYS a rip.

Don't do it. If you gotta, sell your piece and then buy something you want.

Not to hi-jack but what do you all consider relatively close? A couple of hundred? I am maybe in a trade with a vintage bass for a vintage bass. Mine is worth a few hundred more but. I will lose that in ebay/paypal costs and hassle of shipping so i might bite?

yeah, its a defret I think. Its so I'm not lugging basses from house to house every weekend. I go with my dad on weekends, so I have to haul basses up there. I don't like that, so I want to have a fretless and a fretted at each house. Its not about improving my gear or having more basses, its about redundancy and it being convenient. I have 1 fretless and 3 fretteds, all I wanna do is have 2 fretlesses and 2 fretteds. And $500 is enough to get a good rig, Eden Nemesis head and an old peavey cab for like under $300. I plan to get a better cab tho

Isnt having 3 basses but no amp or gig kind of odd? Focus on getting in a band man.

There are plenty of people who have like 50 basses and no gig, they're called hobbyists. Sure, I'll go with that notion and say its weird. I'm not going to sell any of my basses because its "weird" that I have 4 basses and no gig, and if you're selling basses solely for that reason, your crazy. And I don't have any more space, nor do I need another bass. Thus I'm trading, few people have seemed to notice that word.

Sounds like you've justified it, man. What did you even ask for?

Go do your thing.
