Was wondering if I should trade in my Sterling Ray 34 for a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass at Guitar Center? Heard you dont get alot of money there, but I want that Miller Bass.. Plus right now Presidents Day Weekend there giving 15% off... What do you think?

the miller is too heavy for my taste (& my back) but produces the ultimate jb sound. i would take the weight into consideration.
if you're tired of your ray, do it. it's always fun to have a new instrument.

If you want it, go for it. Just remember you're gonna be paying a lot out of pocket for the Marcus bass, even if you do trade in the Ray (if its in good condition, you could probably get $100 for it, maybe $150)

Yeah they won't give you enough for the Ray to be worth the trade.

I'd try to sell the Ray privately, you'll get more for it. Then go pick up the Marcus. Just makes more sense.
Trade-in, you'd be lucky if they give you $200, but you can probably sell it for much more.

Read the fine print on the coupon..... Something about certain manufacturers not "participating" in the sale. The list is online & Fender is on there..... Along with nearly every other instrument manufacturer.

I checked as I was gonna grab up a CV P Bass.

And..... I'd keep the Ray. I had a MM..... Kind of a 1 trick pony compared to the Ray. IMO.

You're gonna trade a perfectly good (I assume) Ray34 for a bass with a dead spot? Get a Marcus Miller preamp and make a project bass with it.

Keep the Ray34, they are good value when you're playing it, not when you're selling it.

The Bass I want has a Dead Spot..
