It seems its been awhile since anyone has done a thread like this. So figured I'd start one up. Always nice to hear a good story to go with it and see some pics of the basses..

Here's mine. Autographed by Marcus Miller. My Fender Marcus Miller Signature Bass. Went to the DMS (Duke, Sanborn, Miller) Concert in Philly. Got video of that entire concert too. Wish I had a better camera though. Audio wasnt great with this camera. You can watch videos on this channel.

Bass on the right side of this photo is signed by Stanley Clarke.

THE STORY
Way back when I was dating the babe I'm married to, I heard on the radio that tickets for Clarke-Duke Project were going on sale. I was right near the box office, so I got in line and got 2nd row seats. At the concert, Stanley Clarke was playing a different bass than his usual Alembic short scale. He stood on the front row seat right in front of me and my date and went totally off the hook on a solo. I got a REAL good look at the bass he was playing.

Long story short, I bought that bass from him in 2000. He signed the neck and headstock for me.

No picture (I know, not proof!) but a short story.

I few years ago my brother and I went to the National Music Show in Birmingham, he took his PRS Custom 22 as he knew Paul Reed Smith would be there.... and managed to get the cavity plate signed in gold pen (which probably instantly double the value). Waited for it to dry and carefully put it back in it's gig bag.

Got home to find that it had nearly all rubbed off inside the case. So a few days later, being the 'don't ask don't get' person he is, my brother fired an email off to PRS and explained his excitement of getting it signed and dismay at it being rubbed off. Amazingly, the email was forwarded on to the man himself who said he remembered my brother from the show and agreed to sign a new cavity plate and send it in the post to the UK free of charge.

This one he has sealed and keeps wrapped up!
