Another one... Fender Body, Bill Lawrence Pickups, Warmoth Neck

Thinking about putting a white guard on her...

3 way toggle and vol / tone like the '72 above...

LOVE the Bill Lawrence P/J set!

...now wishing one of these were a 5er.....

I think the tortoise pickguard looks best! And that bass would be awesome as a 5-string!

There are some really nice basses on this thread.
Here is my Valenti #125.

First on the workbench.

And now the finished product.

I love parchment more and more, I think it's a cool switch. It will fade beautifully in even ten years too.

Actually thinking of selling this one if anyone is interested. I'm just not an active pickups kind of guy. (Still holding onto my MIM P with '73 Fender P pickup & Duncan 1/4 pounder in bridge).

Here's link to my ad:
FS/FT feeler: 2010-11 Fender P Deluxe - MIM - Red body, maple fretboard

Oooh - I like the look of the gold pickguard on the red body with a maple neck. Very nice.

I hear everyone say how "cheap" white guards look, but I wholeheartedly disagree. Old yellowed white guards are the best.

Here is my P/J.

Too bad it just doesn't seem to have the tone my Squier CV P has. I don't claim to know the reason (VVT syndrome/etc) but sadly it is for sale. If I didn't want a P5 so bad I would probably invest some money into this thing to get it to sound the way I want.

My '11 MIJ '70s P with Alembic Activator P/J pups:

Haven't had a chance to make a decent recording with it yet - it's strung with rounds and my Duck Dunn Signature with GHS flats fits the music I'm playing better right now:

Hope to record it soon, but before then I think I want to try and record my '96 MIJ Bass VI RI first...

Would love to hear sound clips!

Squier Precision Special. Upgraded with Kent Armstrong (WD) Hot Vintage pups, Gotoh 201 and new pots. Plays nice and sounds great. I've probably just sold it, though.

A new DIY bass build. Custom Tele Bass. The single coil P and J pickup. Open grain black ash finish. About 95% finished. Lacking headstock decal and final finish up on the nut. (Will post this bass and story later on when 100% complete.)

Performer (J&D) PBJ. 3VT controls, custom black tape technology™ on the pickups.

Soon (hopefully) to be transformed into a three-pickup, five-control, double-output beast. I plan to wind all three pickups myself.
