Thanks. Cool post, but I find it hard to believe that he and Leo were completely unaware of the earlier Tutmarc fretted electric bass viol of the mid to late 30's, which was technically the world's first solid-body electric bass, even if it was never a commercial success. Tutmarc advertised in the musical instrument retail trade papers that circulated up and down on the west coast. Anyways I'm glad that they came up with the mighty P-Bass. The Precision is the one that revolutionized modern music, and set the standards that others followed.
