Well, I reported this for politics, but I wish I could report it for sheer ridiculousness too.

Not a fan of either the Tea Party movement OR Gibson, so you get a "Hell NO!" from me. And yeah, this is a political thread, and is against the rules anyway. The OP should know better.

While I do not support the cranked up enforcement of the Lacey Act, I run screaming from anything Tea Party, and Gibson infamously bought Opcode, builder of Studio Vision, a superior sequencing/recording product, and killed it's products. I have no sympathy for a company so short on vision (no pun intended).

You guys should stop the tea party stuff or this will be shut down .. Use your brains.. It has nothing to do with any party . this is something that traverses all .. and it will be used not only in Guitar building / but gun makers, knife and furniture makers. Get your brains together folks.

I admire ANY company that tries to manufacture anyting in the USA with the current anti-business government that is in power. It is a wonder we have any jobs left at all.

I have been posting about this Gibson thing for a while... people dont get how serious this is.. for an agency to single out one company they way gibson was is on the edge of illegal .. now if someone say this thread is going too far. perhaps they better go look at all the DR BASS threads of people getting involved over their skill levels on skirting issues

Gibson has a rep for treating its workers terribly, and then any time an artist or reporter comes around, management wheels out a few loyalists to say how great they're treated. I'm not supporting them just because people want to buy any kind of wood they want.

Sheer greed. "bwaahhh, I want to put endangered wood on the handle of my knife, and the bad old gummint won't let me!"

Is that that is speculation or proven factually?
Well Gibson is not the only company that would be guilty of such things.. .. It is the way life is in the current corporate world where any job can go bye bye in a minute...
